Weeks Hall, which houses the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, will provide the venue for EBSD 2008. The plenary meeting room accommodates 75 participants in classroom style, to facilitate note-taking. The room is set up for both wireless and wired internet connectivity. In addition:

  • a foyer immediately outside of the plenary room will be used to accommodate posters for in-depth discussions;
  • several smaller seminar rooms immediately above the meeting room will be available as quiet working space; and
  • the Weeks courtyard is located immediately outside, where participants can relax during breaks.

Parking information for campus can be found at Visitor & Information Programs. Please note that parking immediately adjacent to the meeting site is impractical. Street parking has 2 hour limit (enforced by ticketting). The nearest parking lots (called "ramps", $8/day) are 0.5 mile to east (Lot 29) or 0.7 mile to west (Lot 17). If handicapped access required, please contact John Fournelle as far as possible in advance to work out special permits.
