Tutorial   Registration

This day long tutorial will cater both to newcomers to EBSD and to those with some experience and will feature:

• Fundamentals of the EBSD technique, including forming, collecting, and indexing patterns in the SEM;
• EBSD measurement of strain and deformation in crystalline materials
• Sample preparation principles and practice for geological materials, ceramics, and metals
• Analysis and interpretation of crystallographic data generated from EBSD: pole figures and orientation distributions functions
• Simulating EBSD patterns using Bloch-wave based physics

Laboratory Demonstrations:

New for 2010 will be the inclusion of laboratory and software demonstrations as a part of the tutorial day.  These tutorials will span knowledge levels from beginning to intermediate.  More details will be available soon.
