As part of this topical conference, MAS is pleased to offer a full-day tutorial on the EBSD technique.  Please see the EBSD 2012 Program for details.  The tutorial is catered to both newcomers, with little or no experience in EBSD, and to intermediate users who would like to extend their understanding of EBSD science and technology.  Lecturers include:

Live EBSD Demonstrations

In parallel with the tutorial, the Department of Materials Science at Carnegie Mellon University is hosting live EBSD demonstrations throughout the entire day and part of the evening.  Conference participants may request individual or group time with sponsors in the J. Earl and Mary Roberts (JEMR) Microstructural Characterization Suite.  Four microscopes, equipped with EBSD, are available.  Requests for 30 minute time slots (2 per person, maximum) on a first-come first-serve basis can be made at Check-In on Monday the 18th or Tuesday the 19th.
